Are we there yet?

Here in revelation a verse of scripture has captured my attention:

Rev 13:7a And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:

Now based on what is written in this whole passage does it look like God has given the power to the beast or is it the devil?

Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

I see blasphemy and warfare against the saints becoming more vogue in many countries and also in this country. My brothers are you seeing what I see and is this more to do with God being disregarded by us or is this simply the empowering of devilish authorities by satan?

    Both, IMO.

There are many records in the Bible of God allowing the devil to punish His people, because of their having turned away. Yet He still has ultimate authority and does not allow the devil to go too far. He also offers His people a solution, should they accept it, and protection for individuals who trust Him.

As to whether we are seeing it now, while there is some terrible persecution going on in places, it’s not quite to the extent of the prophecies, not only in Revelation but in Daniel and the other OT Prophets, which Revelation quote and refer to many times. I’d say it’s leading up to what the prophecies describe, though, and will most likely get worse, perhaps soon.

as for the question about “Are we there yet?” I would like to mention a book available freely on the internet, to which someone just referred me in an e-mail recently

    The book is found at

In particular, the chapters in “Part Four” might be helpful, such as

    “The time is at hand”

“The Beast and the False Prophet”

this is what most people miss
the sealed happens after great tribulation and before the antichrist reign.
if you look at history you will find there has been no greater tribulation than the last 100 years
and all of the 12 tribes and all those that JESUS made abrahams seed will go through it.
after they are sealed then will the seventh seal be opened.
if you are looking at a 7 year period before the return of JESUS and think the great tribulation will happen during it then you might need to read again.
satans wrath on man will be during that seven years.
there will be many die during the great tribulation because they think they have plenty of time to repent.there will even many more than that will deny JESUS because they thought they were in JESUS but were just followers of man.
the last part of the great tribulation will exceedingly great
both israel and judea just finished GOD’S PUNISHMENT so the next thing that will be a sign will be the sealing but there will be the worst of the great tribulation between now and then.
people need to hold to the TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD only. what man has to offer will not provide salvation or the strength to prevent the second death

    Revelation 7

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I wonder is the Christians who were thrown to the lions in Rome
were aware of these verses. Was it about the same time as the
    revelation was given?

You are performing what is called an “eisegesis” on this scripture. That is, taking a passage and inserting your idea into it. This is why I am neither a Preterist nor a Futurist but a Historcist with a mix of Preterism. The world is talking about the Latin world (Luke 2:1).
