King David Missing
Breaking news of an ongoing investigation has been reported into the missing of patriarch, King David. David was the infamous shepherd boy who slew the giant Philistine, Goliath, and was anointed King of Israel, by well-loved and respected Samuel, the Prophet of Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. King David is allegedly missing from all the dead Biblical “Greats” who are supposedly in heaven at this current time, praising and worshiping God, without bodies. Since Jesus, Son of God, is to sit upon the throne of David, to rule in an everlasting kingdom upon the earth someday, sources tell us that one would expect this David to also be included in the heavenly chorus of saints. He is not. He is blatantly missing from such a Who’s Who of Biblical Greats!

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. An indecisive man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:6-8.

Here are just a few of the basic foundational stones that we have emphasized
over the years in our home.:
1. God first.
You can never start too young, in talking with your baby about God. There are ‘baby Bibles’ out there, with a few sentences and a picture, that you can begin to read to them as soon as they are out of the womb! As soon as they begin to eat their first cereal, praying begins! I constantly sang “Jesus Loves Me” and other little children’s tunes to them, to teach them about God. As soon as they could talk, we taught our kids Ephesians 6:1, and other verses. My first two, knew all the books of the Bible by the time they were ages 3 and 4. Children are very intelligent, and I think as parents, we underestimate how much they can really grasp and be influenced for the Lord, at such a young age.

This morning when I awakened, I turned on the television to catch the end of the wedding ceremony of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton from the United Kingdom (I wasn’t about to get up at such an ungodly hour of 4 a.m. to watch the whole thing here in the U.S.!). What caught my attention was the fanfare and the crowds that awaited them, lined in throngs down both sides of the street as their carriage carried them from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth was hosting a wedding breakfast for 650 royals.

This Easter weekend, across the world, people will be celebrating the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that God raised him from the dead, so that he is alive today, sitting at the right hand of God in the heavens, awaiting the time he will return to the earth to establish His Father’s Kingdom!
I think I heard a hearty “Amen” from someone out there in cyberspace! What GOOD NEWS for us broken, sinful, mortal humans to know that there is hope, because of the man, Jesus, who gave his life to atone for our sins!

“Those who love you the most, are often the ones who bring you the most discomfort,” someone said recently. They were referring to the fact, that sometimes the people who love you the most, are the ones who are willing to tell you the truth; who will sit down with you and be honest with you about something that no one else really wants to confront; someone who may challenge you to live higher than you are currently living; who will help you rid your life of a habitual sin; or who may point out an error or a wrong choice that you may have made, but still don’t see it yourself.

John 3:16 is probably one of the most famous and most quoted verse of the entire Bible. It’s simple truths, arrayed in one uncomplicated sentence, holds the plain Gospel message for all who are willing to hear the words spoken. Yet, sadly, the majority of the Christians who are so apt to quote it, actually hold Theology that contradicts it. They may be shocked to realize that what they think they believe and what the Scripture actually says, are two different things entirely.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,

Who’s the Boss?
When a married couple goes on a trip together, they can learn a lot about one another’s personality, just by observing who likes to be in the driver’s seat; who likes to control the radio station; who gets to decide to what temperature the heater or air conditioner should be heating or cooling; and who will read the map and navigate the journey. Some of our personalities tend to want to be more controlling. Sometimes, a person would rather relax and just go along for the drive. But, ultimately, if there is to be any order and peace in the car, someone has to make the final decision. Everyone in the family can make a pitch for what radio station that they prefer, but only one in the car, can determine which station it will be. Even in a democracy, there must be a leader. Someone in charge, or there will be chaos; discourse; resentment; strife. When no one leads, no one follows; and everyone will believe they are right and the other, wrong.

It’s Friday. I breathe a huge sigh of relief, that the work week is finally coming to an end, but a part of me wonders why I feel relief, when my weekend is just as full, if not more full, than a weekday? As a mother of five very active children, it is no surprise that our family’s calendar is always hopping. In fact, one challenge I constantly face is to keep our lives simple and not over committed, so that we can still have some sort of family life together; otherwise, I am merely a hotel with taxi privileges.
