			<title>Pentcost:Clothed with Power</title>
			<description>Acts 1:1-3
After the resurrection, Jesus was with his apostles for 40 days. During this time, he gave them commands and spoke about the Kingdom of God. Some of what Jesus communicated to his disciples during this time is recorded in Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20 and 21.

Luke 24:49 &#8211; He told them that he would send the promise of the Father and that they would be clothed with power from on high.

Acts 1:4-5
Here he told them to wait for the promise of the Father. This is associated with being baptized with the holy spirit.

Clothed with power = the promise of the Father = baptized with the holy spirit

Acts 1:6-8
With the holy spirit they would receive power. This would enable them to be witnesses for Jesus.
A similar instruction was given in John 20:21-22. The holy spirit is how Jesus would send them into the world.

Acts 1:9-11 - The ascension

Acts 1:12-15; 26 &#8211; Matthias was added to the eleven.

Acts 2:1 &#8211; &#8220;They were all... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Love according to the Spirit</title>
<description>Jesus always loved God and others.

1 John 2:4-6 We should walk in the same manner that Jesus did.

Three examples from Jesus&#8217; life:

1.	John 13:1-5, 12-14 Jesus washes the disciples&#8217; feet.
2.	Luke 11:42-44 Jesus confronts the Pharisees for their hypocrisy.
3.	Mark 11:15-18 Jesus overturns the tables in the temple.

John 14:26; Luke 12:11-12 How do we know how to love? The spirit aids us.

We need to love God. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)
We need to love our neighbors. (Leviticus 19:18)
We need to love our enemies. (Matthew 5:43-48)

			<title>The Essence</title>
<description>Mathew 27:37- 40 Love is the great and foremost (most important, in first place) commandment.

John 13:34 and 35 - Love is the badge of discipleship.

Romans 13:8-10 - We are not to be indebted to anyone, but we owe all love because of God. Loving God is not mentioned because as we love each other, we are loving God.

Ephesians 3:14-21 - Notice the logical progression.

Ephesians 4:15 and 16 &#8211; We grow together in love.

In the epistle of 1John, the word &#8220;love&#8221; occurs 24 times more than in any other NT book. The understanding of love is diverse, and everyone holds his or her own view. Thus, a biblical definition is mandatory.

1John 2:2-3; John 14:14, 23, and 24 Obedience is the foundation of godly love.

1John 3:11-14 &#8211; Love is the ground, not of our passing over out of death into life, but of our knowing that we have. Love, on our part, is the evidence of our regeneration, not the cause of it.

			<title>The Church of God</title>
<description>Ephesians 1:22 The power of the resurrection extends itself to the embodiment of Christ.

Psalm 8:6   &#8220;You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.&#8221;

Ephesians 1:23 The sequence of thought seems to be: by his resurrection and ascension, Christ is exalted to be Lord of all, he is head of all things for the church, the church is his body, intended to express him in the world. More than that, Christ being the head fills the body with power of movement and perception, and therefore inspires the whole body with life and direction.

Colossians 1:18-20 This designation of the function of the church is amplified yet further; it is not only his body, which is intended to be the fullness of him who fills all in all, but it is God&#8217;s purpose for all the fullness to dwell in him.

Colossians 2:10 We have come to fullness of life in him! Our maturity is described by the development and growth we have in... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

The Final Resurrections (Romans 6:5; 1Corinthians 15)
Resurrection Impact (Ephesians 1:16-23; 2Corinthians 5:14-21)
Resurrection and You

Romans 8:28-39 God loves you, and wants you to be with Him in eternity.

John 1:1, 14 and 18 In Jesus, we understand more fully the love that God has for us. God loves you, and God wants you!

Luke 15:1-10 Two other illustrations that express God&#8217;s attitude toward you

			<title>Resurrection Impact</title>
			<description>Ephesians 1:19-2:7; 1 Peter 3:21-22
Christ&#8217;s resurrection is inextricably linked to his ascension. God has exalted Christ to the highest position of authority in the universe, far above every other authority and power structure. This cosmic reordering enables Christ to be head of the church&#8212;his body. This means that we no longer need to dance to the beat of this world as slaves to our own fleshly lusts. A new option is now available: grace, salvation, hope.

Colossians 1:12-20; 2:9-10, 15
Christ&#8217;s exaltation is so big the only word that can adequately describe it is &#8220;creation&#8221;&#8212;a new creation. In Christ, through Christ, for Christ&#8230;all things were created. New creation is all about Christ who is the co-creator of this new realm of authority. He is at the top, the firstborn, the one who is before everything, the one who holds it all together. If we continue in the faith, we remain in the domain of the beloved Son; otherwise, we sink... <title>The Final Resurrections</title>
			<description>1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The Scriptures revealed the truth about the Messiah &#8722; that he would die for sins, he would be buried, and he would be raised from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:5-11
Over 500 eyewitnesses saw the resurrected Christ, and this truth was preached.

1 Corinthians 15:12-19
Apparently, some were saying that there is no resurrection of the dead. If there is no resurrection and if Christ is not raised from the dead, our faith is vain, and we have a false hope.

1 Corinthians 15:20
However, Christ has been raised from the dead and has become the &#8220;first fruits&#8221; of those who sleep.
He is the firstborn from the dead. He&#8217;s the first; others will follow (Rom 8:11, 29; Col 1:18; Rev 1:5).

1 Corinthians 15:21-22
In Adam, all died. In Christ, all will be made alive. Everyone will be raised from the dead, either in the resurrection of the just or in the resurrection of the unjust.

1 Corinthians 15:23-28
There is an order. Christ was... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>The First Resurrection</title>
<description>Isaiah 53:9 - His body was with a rich man in death. Mt 27:57-60; John 19:39-42

Matthew 12:40 says three days and three nights (72 hours); Mark 8:31 states &#8211; &#8220;after three days rise again;&#8221; and Matthew16:21 says &#8211; &#8220;he will be raised on the third day.&quot; He died about 3PM; so, three days and three nights would end about 3PM on the third day. The completion of 72 hours would still be on the third day.

Matthew 28:1-4 - The actual resurrection is not recorded because, according to 1Corinthains 15:51, it is a mystery.

The guards were placed there so that no one could steal the body and start communicating that he was raised as he said he would be. The guards later were paid off not to tell the truth about what happened. Matthew 28:11

Matthew 28:1 The weekly Sabbath was Saturday, so when these women were at the tomb at dawn on the first day of the week, it was early Sunday morning which means Jesus was up already. He died on Wednesday and arose on... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Jesus&#039; Sacrifice</title>
<description>In order rightly to comprehend Jesus&#8217; suffering and death, a careful comparison of all four Gospels is necessary. The most common understanding and communication on this subject has been very slipshod with focus upon only one of the Gospels and, in some cases, with information completely fabricated. For centuries, the Roman Catholic Church has been the standard-bearer in this regard.

The word &#8220;Easter&#8221; comes from the goddess of the Anglo-Saxons named Eostre. She is the goddess of the dawn and was worshipped in the spring by pagans in Northern Europe and the British Isles.

Traditional teaching is that the last supper was the Passover meal. The Scriptures teach that the Passover was the day Jesus died and that he was the Passover lamb.

Most celebrate Jesus&#8217; death on &#8220;Good Friday&#8221; and his resurrection on &#8220;Easter&#8221; Sunday morning. Matthew 12:40 clearly states Jesus was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Crucified with Christ</title>
			<description>Galatians 2:20 &#8211; &#8220;I have been crucified with Christ&#8221;

Philippians 3:10 &#8211; &#8220;The fellowship of His sufferings;&#8221; &#8220;conformed to His death&#8221;

How can one be crucified, conformed to death, and yet still be alive?

What cross did Christ bear?
Matthew 27:32; Mark 15:21; Luke 23:26
When they led Him away, they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, coming in from the country, and placed on him the cross to carry behind Jesus.

The Gospel of John gives more insight.
John 19:17
&#8220;He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.&#8221;

To bear a cross can mean more than the physical act of carrying a wooden cross.
Luke 14:27; Luke 9:23; Matthew 10:38

Isaiah 53:6; Colossians 2:14
Our iniquities were laid on Christ. He nailed these things to his cross. The cross Christ bore included the sins of all mankind. He carried the weight of the salvation of the world. ... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Light of the World 3: Glory Givers</title>
<description>Part one - SASA, part two - Speak Good Words, and part three - Ambassadors

Matthew 5:13-16 &#8211; The qualifiers for salt and light are the beatitudes &#8211; humility, mourning, meekness, hunger and thirst after righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, peace makers, and rejoicing under persecution. When we live accordingly, we have the impact of salt and light.

Salt represents a preserving quality. Your presence has impact because the blessing of God goes with you.

Philippians 2:3-16 We are the lights of the world.

Ephesians 5:5-20 As we walk rightly, we are light. We must be careful not to fellowship with darkness because it will quickly overcome the light in you.

1Peter 2:1-5 Non-Christians are self focused; young Christians struggle to transition from self to God focus. Mature Christians understand the purpose of life is to glorify God, to please Him.

1Peter 2:12 The aim of our life is not to please self but God and to help others to glorify... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Philemon</title>
<description>This book is a very personal plea to Philemon to accept and forgive Onesimus, his runaway slave who wronged him. This book shows us how to practice our faith with love.

Philemon 1-3 Greeting

4-7 Philemon was a wonderful believer who demonstrated great love and faith.

Verses 8-21 Paul&#8217;s plea for Onesimus

8 Paul could have commanded obedience, but for &#8220;love&#8217;s sake&#8221; (the benefit of love), I beseech you.
10 Onesimus was a runaway slave who Paul won to the Lord when he was in prison.

11-14 He sent Onesimus back, so things could be set right.

15 All this may have been for a reason.
16 Onesimus was not just a slave but now a brother. You will be together for eternity.

17-19 Whatever he owes you, I will repay.
20, 21 Refresh my life as you have refreshed the others around you. I know you will do this with your whole heart.
22 Pray I am released from prison so I can be with you.

<title>Light of the World 2: Speak Good Words</title>
<description>Matthew 5:13-16 Your presence represents a godly influence. The place you are at home, school, work, or church is better for your having been there. Some people&#8217;s presence adds nothing good or bad. Some bring darkness and evil, but you bring goodness and light. When you are here, we are better.

What we speak:
&#8226;	Affects our own confidence and faith
&#8226;	Sways how others think and believe about us
&#8226;	May influence how others think and believe about themselves
&#8226;	Can shape how others view God

It Affects Our Own Confidence and Faith

(Romans 10:9 &#38;10; Hebrews 4:13; 10:23); 1John 1:7; Ac 19:18 Our confession has powerful sway on our faith. What we confess affirms what we believe. At times, it seals our conviction and faith.

The devil cannot read our minds, but he can read our actions and hear our words.

Proverbs 12:15; 19:20 We all need to confess the negatives we battle with and receive godly counsel. We do not need to tell everyone in... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>We Need Each Other</title>
<description>1Corinthians 12:12-ff God designed the Church to be an interdependent body just like the human body.

Ephesians 5:21-33 Marriage also provides an example of the Church. We are in an interdependent relationship that assists us in our individual walks with God.

Mark 12:28-31; Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 5:14; 1John 4:11-21 If we love God, we are to love our brother also which is impossible without fellowship.

Hebrews 10:19-25 The fight within and without is intense. All of us need the encouragement that we gain from each other. The strength, experiences, and faith of a brother can really help in our time of need.

Galatians 6:1-10 Some burdens we must bear alone, but the design of the body is such that we can help each other with some of the burdens.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 Self-deception is very difficult to get out of, so the helping hand of a willing brother can really help. We can also provide help for others if we are connected and not isolated.

<title>The Word of God: Tested and True</title>
			<description>Ps 119:140; Pr 30:5; Ps 19:7-9
The Word of God is pure; it&#8217;s perfect.

Deut 32:4; Is 25:1
God is faithful, and His way is perfect.

Ps 12:6; Ps 18:30
The Word of God has stood the test of time. It has been tested and tried.

1 Pet 1:23-25
Men have come and gone; nations have fallen, but we still have the Word of God.

The Word of God has been tested since the very beginning. Does God really mean what He says? Satan tempted Eve asking, &#8220;Indeed, has God said, &#8216;You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?&#8217;&#8221; (Gen 3:1). Jesus, God&#8217;s Son, was also tempted as to the integrity of God&#8217;s Word (Matthew 3:16-17; 4:1-4). This has always been the question posed to mankind: Is God&#8217;s Word really true?

2 Timothy 3:16
The Scriptures, the Bible, contain God&#8217;s Word.  They are inspired by God.  They are &#8220;God-breathed.&#8221;

			<title>Love Like God</title>
<description>1John 3:8-11 God&#8217;s message to humanity from the very beginning has been to love one another.

12 &#8211; Genesis 4:1-15 We do not determine the right way to love God; rather, we love Him as He tells us to do. We are also to love Him with the right attitude. Cain did it his own way, but Abel did it God&#8217;s way.

1John 3:12-18 Love is more than noble intentions; it must also include godly action.

1John 4:7 - Do you want to know God? Love is not optional.

8 - &#8220;Born of God&#8221; and godly behavior are convincingly connected throughout the epistle of 1John. Loving others and knowing God are also persuasively linked together. By the practice of love, we learn to know God more and more, and conversely, a stranger to love is a stranger to knowing God. The difference between knowing and not knowing God is loving one another.

The phrase &#8220;God is love&#8221; is not interchangeable with &#8220;love is God.&#8221; Our self-contrived impression of love... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15)</title>
<description>Three major topics handled in this chapter are: 1) resurrection of Jesus, 2) resurrection of the just, 3) transformation of those who are alive when he returns.

2 &#8211; The resurrection is the core of the gospel (Romans 1:3 and 4; 2Timothy 2:18). Man&#8217;s salvation and the believer&#8217;s hope are based upon the resurrection.

&#8220;If&#8221; is a small word with huge ramifications (Romans 11:22; Colossians 1:23; Hebrews 3:6, 7, 14; 10:38). &#8220;If&#8221; means in the event that, allowing that, on the assumption that, on condition that.

4 &#8211; Like Jonah, Jesus was dead for three days and three nights (Matthew 12:39 and 40), and he got up on the third day because he died about 3pm.

8 &#8211; Other post resurrection appearances are noted in the Gospels.

20 &#8211; A number of people were resurrected from the dead, but only Jesus stayed alive.

The dead are referred to as &#8220;them that slept&#8221; (1Thessalonians 4:13). Sleep is a natural, temporary, and... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

<description>Luke 1:5 &#8211; Herod the great (37-4 BC) The priests were divided into twenty-four divisions of which Abijah&#8217;s was the eighth, according to 1Chronicles 24. Each division was on duty twice a year for a week each time. Elizabeth&#8217;s father was also a priest from the line of Aaron.

7 &#8211; In their culture, not having a child was considered a disgrace, especially not having a son who would be the family heir. People believed the blessing of childbearing was withheld because of the husband&#8217;s or wife&#8217;s sins.

10 &#8211; According to the Mishnah, a priest could not offer incense more than once in his entire lifetime, and some priests never did receive the privilege. Thus, this was the most important moment in the life of Zechariah.

			<title>Hanukkah: Going against the Flow</title>
			<description>

Sometimes when Christians just go with the flow, horrible things happen (crusades, inquisition, Rwanda, American slavery).

Scripture teaches us to resist taking the shape of the age in which we live and to recognize a separation between the church and the world (Romans 12:2; 1 John 2:15-17; James 4:4).

Hanukkah is the story of courageous resistance to an empire that tried forcibly to convert everyone to polytheism. Against impossible odds, a rag-tag group of revolutionaries with zeal for God&#8217;s Scripture in their hearts took on the Seleucid Empire and won their independence.

&#8220;Even if every nation living in the king&#8217;s dominions obeys him, each forsaking its ancestral religion to conform to his decrees, I, my sons, and my brothers will still follow the covenant of our ancestors.&#8221; &#8211;Mattathias

Jesus went to Jerusalem during Hanukkah (John... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Prayer&#039;s Possibilities</title>
<description>Matthew 7:7-12 Jesus&#8217; words on prayer are shocking.

Matthew 21:18-21 - Why did he curse the fig tree? Was he in a bad mood?

When Jesus said to cast the mountain in the sea, it may have been hyperbole, but there was nothing exaggerated in the cursing of the fig tree.

John 14:12-15 Jesus states within his teaching our need to obey and love and again emphasizes the need for prayer.

John 15:16 He wants fruit to abound in our lives.

John 16: 23 &#8211; 27 We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ with the expectations that God will respond to our prayers.

Luke 18:1-8 Persistence is necessary, and we are to trust that our Father will do the best for us in His time.

Psalms 2 The instruction was to ask. The promise has not yet been fulfilled, but it will be.

Luke 18:9-17 &#8211; Humility is the disciple&#8217;s way of life

<description>Isaiah prophesies about Babylon over 100 years before its rise to world power.

Isaiah 47:1 Babylon is designated a virgin. From the context, it means it was immune from the attacks of foreign invaders.

From sitting on the world throne, she comes down to sit in the dust.

2 &#8211; engaging in the task of the lowest menial slaves

3 &#8211; Babylon will be seen for what she really is

4 - Three of Yahweh&#8217;s attributes: 1) the Redeemer 2) LORD of hosts 3) Holy One

5 &#8211; Babylon was the queen of all the kingdoms in her day as it will be in the end

6 - the reason God judges them is stated. Babylon was unaware of the purposes of the sovereign God and believed that she was in control of her actions. She misused her privilege and opportunity and exhibited cruelty in her dealings, and so she must be humbled. Unaware, Babylon was carrying out the designs and intents of Yahweh, yet her own motives were sinful and corrupt.

<itunes:summary>Psalm 23 paints a vivid picture of a good shepherd as he faithfully loves, provides for, and protects his sheep. It helps us to understand our need to be shepherded.

Without a good shepherd, people suffer great lack and are always wanting - never content. Ezekiel 34:5; Matthew 9:36

Psalm 23:1 We are owned by a good shepherd who withholds no good thing and who knows what we need before we ask. II Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; Psalms 34:9-10 and 84:11; IIChronicles 16:9

Psalm 23:2 We have peace and can be free from the fears of life because Yahweh is with us. Proverbs 3:24-26, Psalms 4:8 and 34:7-8

Psalm 23:3 Jesus is the good shepherd and has been anointed by Yahweh to restore our souls and guide us in the paths of righteousness. John 10:1-15; Isaiah 61:1

Psalm 23:4 Yahweh watches over us 24/7. He is our refuge and strength. He guides us through times of deep darkness. Psalms 121 and 46

			<title>Love Connection</title>
<description>The connection between love and spirit is threefold. First, we experience God&#8217;s love for us. Second, the spirit enables us to love God; and third, the spirit gives us the ability to love others as Christ loves us.

Romans 5:5-10 While we were in our unholy, pathetic state, God so loved us that He gave His Son to die for us. Much more, we are saved from the wrath to come.

Romans 8:14-17 The generosity, love, mercy, grace, goodness, wisdom, and power of God are very evident with the love empowering gift of holy spirit.

Galatians 5:13-16 If we walk by the spirit, we will not be overcome with the unloving deeds of the flesh.

Philippians 1:12-20 Instead of submitting to the temptations of anger, ingratitude, grumbling about injustice, blaming God or others, or doubting himself, he was thankful that his incarceration had turned out for the greater furtherance of the gospel. He did not take things personally because he did not believe lies about himself.

			<title>What&#039;s the Solution?</title>
			<description>The problem
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why do hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanoes happen?
Why are some struck by lightning or dragged out to sea by sharks?
Why are some children born handicapped and others die young?
Why doesn&#8217;t God simply prevent freak accidents from happening?

Atheism
Stuff happens; there is no reason why

Pantheism
Pain is an illusion; enlightenment is found through detachment

Biblical Responses
The devil did it (2 Corinthians 4.4)
Results of the fall (Romans 5.12; 8.22)
Judgment of God (Genesis 19.13)
All things work together for good (Romans 8.28)
Death is a wakeup call for the living (Ecclesiastes 7.2)
Not enough faith to be healed (Matthew 13.58)
Time and chance overtake us all (Ecclesiastes 9.11)

Dealing with Suffering
Don&#8217;t deny evil (psalms of disorientation, i.e Psalm 88)
God suffers with us; we are not alone (Hosea and Gomer)
God knows what it is like to lose a son! (John 3.16)

			<title>Nahum</title>
<description>1:1 and 2 &#8211; Nahum presents concepts difficult for us to understand because of our worldview regarding these topics.

&#8220;Jealous&#8221; according to the dictionary means requiring complete loyalty or faithfulness; watchful in keeping or guarding something, careful; fearful that a person one loves may love or prefer some else.

&#8220;Envy&#8221; means discontent or ill will at another&#8217;s good fortune because one wishes it had been his.

God&#8217;s jealousy speaks to the fiercely protective commitment to His people and His exclusive claim to obedience and reciprocal commitment.

Exodus 20:5; 34:14; Deuteronomy 4:24; 5:9

Where this relationship of mutual commitment is threatened, either by Israel&#8217;s unfaithfulness or by foreign oppression, the inevitable expressions of such jealousy are vengeance and wrath which are directed to restoring that relationship.

Avenging and vengeance are judicial in nature and express judgment and requital for... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<title>Lord of Justice</title>
<description>Micah, like all the prophets, deals with disobedience to Yahweh&#8217;s commands, social justice, and idolatry. Perhaps more than most, he deals with social injustice.

The inspired writing of the prophets in the Old Testament helps us to interpret the complexities of both the present and the future in the light of the past. They also provide a clear written standard to help us cope with the injustices and evils of our day.

Micah 2:1-3 God does not allow sin to go unpunished, even with His own people.

4 - The lamentation concerns the changing of hands of the land allotted to the people. It was Israel&#8217;s exclusive possession and had become the property of her enemies.

5 - Joshua 14:1-5 Because of their blatant disregard, the oppressors had removed themselves from any inheritance in the congregation.

6 The NIV translates this as &#8211; &#8220;Do not prophesy,&#8221; their prophets say. &#8220;Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake... To read the rest of the notes visit lhim.org&#47;sermons

			<description>2 Timothy 1:12:  &#8220;For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.&#8221;
Levels of Ashamed
-	Level One: what you are ashamed of is truly shameful
-	Level Two: others will look down on you, ridicule you, reject you for finding out

Mark 8:27-28: What&#8217;s the buzz on the street? Who did people think Jesus was?

Mark 8:29: Peter&#8217;s stunning response hits the nail on the head.

Mark 8:30: The messianic secret. Why didn&#8217;t Jesus want people to know who he really was?

Mark 8:31: Since the Messiah&#8217;s job description includes conquering the world, reestablishing the kingdom of Israel on the throne of David, and ushering in an age of peace, justice, and eternal life, Jesus&#8217; prediction about suffering and dying at the hands of his enemies shocked and scandalized Peter.

			<title>Eternal Life</title>
			<description>John 3:16; I John 2:25
We have been promised eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The words &#8220;eternal Life&#8221; are two Greek words ionios zoe.
KJV &#8211; 26 times =&#8220;eternal life;&#8221; 10 times =&#8220;everlasting life;&#8221; 4 times =&#8220;life everlasting&#8221;
NASB &#8211; &#8220;eternal life&#8221; every time

When does one receive eternal life?
Three different Christian views:
&#8226;	At the time of death
&#8226;	At the time of one&#8217;s conversion &#8211; confession of Jesus as Lord
&#8226;	At Christ&#8217;s return

John 5:25-29; 6:39-40, 54; Luke 18:28-30
Those who believe on Jesus will have eternal life; and on the last day, the graves will open, and the dead will be raised to life.    Eternal life comes in &#8220;the age to come.&#8221;

Ezekiel 37:11-14; Daniel 12:1-2; Acts 24:14-15; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 20:4-14
This was Israel&#8217;s hope &#8211; a future resurrection of the dead.

15.12 Some Say No Resurrection?

<description>Leviticus 25:1-12, 20-22 God&#8217;s proper cycle for life was to have everything and everyone rest the seventh year. He promised to provide; they had to trust.

Leviticus 26:33-36 The consequences of disobedience

Jeremiah 25:1-11 After centuries of disobedience filled with immorality and idolatry, Jeremiah tells of their end that indeed did happen.

2Chronicles 36:11-21 The prophecy was fulfilled because God is faithful. The time was in relationship to the failed Sabbaths.

Jeremiah 29:10-14 He promised to bring them back after 70 years.

They did not obey for 490 years, which is why they were in captivity for 70 years &#8722; one year for each Sabbath year neglected. 490 divided by seven equals 70.

Daniel 9:1 and 2 Daniel realized while reading Jeremiah that the 70 years of captivity were drawing to a close.
