Notes:

READ THE BIBLE TO UNDERSTAND GOD!

Psalms 19:1-6 God's creation to a large extent teaches us about God.

Genesis 1, 6, 14, 17; Exodus 3 and 6

Exodus 34:6 and 7 His glory revealed; the seven unchanging attributes of God

ACKNOWLEDGE EVERYTHING GOD REVEALS ABOUT HIMSELF

The great question we should ask is how does God present Himself?

Genesis 19:15 - 19 First use in the Bible of "mercy"

Genesis 6:5-8 The first time "grace" is written in the Scriptures

Numbers 14:1-35 The second place "longsuffering" is used in the Scriptures.

God is not who you want Him to be; rather, He is who He is. Far too many view God the way they want Him to be.

Job 42:5 "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You"

STUDY THE WHOLE BIBLE

Some of books in the Bible (for example, Deuteronomy and Acts) present a wide-ranging view of God, while others (for example, Ezekiel and Revelation) emphasize limited aspects such as judgment and wrath. No one book covers everything about God; rather, the whole Bible contains the full picture. The Torah (Genesis -- Deuteronomy) sets the foundational understanding about God.

Many start their reading of the Bible in the Gospels since they perceive those books to be the New Covenant (testament) and to be addressed exclusively to Christians.

Who starts reading a book 3/4 of the way through and expects to gain a comprehensively understanding of the main theme or character? It is not surprising that so many believe Jesus is God rather than the son of God.

If you had the Torah in your mind, you would see the vast contrast between Jesus and God. Jesus was able to feed multitudes with a few fish and loaves of bread; Yahweh created fish and wheat. Jesus had extraordinary power to calm the sea, raise the dead, heal the blind...; however, this is somewhat limited compared to the one who created the sun and the trillions of stars.
