Notes:

A) THE SPIRIT MADE JESUS ABLE

Matthew 3:13-4:1 Was this the first time he received the spirit? Apparently, from this point on, he was led by the spirit.

John 1:29-34 The water baptism of Jesus was for the benefit of John so that he might bear witness.

John 3:34-36 "Without measure" means not moderately or sparingly, rather with abundance, bountifully.

Deuteronomy 18:15-19 Jesus is that prophet like unto Moses who spoke the words of God. He is the last great prophet, the greatest prophet.

Matthew 12:15-18 The spirit enabled him to speak and do God's will.

Luke 4:18-19 Jesus' words about himself quoted from Isaiah

John 4:34, 5:19 & 20, 6:38, 12:49 & 50; 17:8 His obedience to the written Word and the revelation received is why he always did God's will.

B) JESUS WAS SENT TO BAPTIZE IN SPIRIT

Matthew 3:11&12 Each time John spoke regarding baptism, he said the same thing.

John 1:19-34

John 3:22-34 Jesus did not baptize people in water because his baptism is of the spirit.

John 7:37-39 The baptism of the spirit first happened on the day of Pentecost, ten days after the ascension. (Acts 2:33)

C) THE SPIRIT ENABLES US TO BE JUST LIKE HIM

John 14:1-3 I will come again (verses 18, 27 and 23)

John 14:4-11 The relationship Jesus had with the Father was because of his obedience to the Scriptures and the spirit.

John 14:12-20 We can be like him because we are enabled with holy spirit just as he was!
