Romans 15:1 and 2 We are not to make our own happiness or gratification the standard of our conduct.

Romans 15:3; Psalms 69:7-16 The context of the psalm is interesting when applied to our walk today. If we live for God we will be reproached [rebuked, disapproved, blamed, discredited, disgraced] by the world. Our service to humanity is not about humanity; it is about God.

Too many of us get discouraged by the people we endeavor to serve because we hold wrong expectations or have wrong motives.

Romans 15:4 and 5 Perseverance and encouragement come from the Scriptures and from God, not from those we serve.

Romans 15:7 We are to accept each other as one's own. You are my brother.

I Corinthians 9:19-27 Paul was willing to lay down his life so as to live for God by helping others.

I Corinthians 13:5 Selfless living is loving.

Galatians 6:1-10 We are to be burden bearers.

Philippians 2:1-11 Be like Christ.
