Genesis 14:19
“And he blessed him and said, ‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;’”

Psalms 47:2
“For the LORD [Yahweh] Most High is to be feared, A great King over all the earth.”

Mat 11:25
“At that time Jesus answered and said, ‘I praise Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth….’” God has always been sovereign over all.

Gen 1:26-31
God gave humankind dominion over all the earth but not dominion over God or each other. They had equal authority.

Genesis 3
They sought to have equal authority with God which resulted in diminished dominion over the earth and a dominant desire to control others.

Gen 3:16
The husband rules over the wife thus beginning the history of humanity constantly struggling to control each other.

Gen 4
Cain strived to control his brother which ended in murder; hence, began the history of humanity trying to control each other.

Genesis 14
First World War, so on it has been ever since

Nations developed with men ruling over men, which have continued throughout history.

Israel for a moment had a kingdom under David and Solomon that was a theocracy.

God promised through the prophets that He would set up His kingdom on earth with His Messiah ruling.

Apparently, as is seen in the Gospels, the Israelites were looking for the Messiah that would be the king on the throne of David. (Revelation 12:5)

Matthew 2:1-4
Herod understood that the Messiah was the king.

Luke 17:20
“When he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:”

Luke 19:11
They supposed the Kingdom was going to appear immediately.

Jesus spoke of the Kingdom continually.

Acts 1:6
And so when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"

Matthew 27:11
“Are you the king of the Jews?”

This is the king of the Jews.

Revelation 3:21
God has a throne, and Jesus has a throne. 5:13

Ephesians and Peter reveal that Jesus has authority over every living being (with the exception of God) in heaven and earth now and in the age to come.

Revelation 20:1-6
During the thousand years, Christ will reign on earth over the kingdoms of the world, and the faithful will reign with him.

Revelation 20: 7-21:7
During the millennial reign, people will still be governed by people; but in the new heaven and earth, we will return to the relationship that Adam and Eve had in paradise where they ruled over the earth and not each other.
