Notes:

2 Kings 6:24 The kingdom suffered as it did because of idolatry.

2 Kings 6:25 The ass was deemed unclean food, and the head is the worst part of the animal. Eighty pieces of silver was equal to $50. A cab was the smallest dry measure. The proportion stated here was nearly half a pint for $3. Dove's dung is a kind of pulse or pea common in Judea.

2 Kings 6:31 The king blamed the prophet for his own sin. Blaming the prophet was like blaming God.

2 Kings 7:3 They asked a great question -- "Why do we sit here until we die?" Life has struggles, so what are you going to do? Should we sit here and die or get up and go?

2 Kings 7:11 Action does not always bring such positive results, but inaction most always brings no results. Refuse to sit here and die; rather, get up with God and go.

Acts 5:12-18 When good is done for God, opposition will arise. We are in a war; therefore, every action has a counteraction.

Acts 5:20 The angel did not say to sit here until you die!

Acts 14:1-ff Peter and Paul did not get discouraged, but they stood tall and became more determined to speak the words of God.
