Notes:

John 1:14-18 The NASB has translated verse 18 incorrectly. The KJV is much closer to the original Greek text. "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

"Declared" is the Greek word exegeomai from ek (out of) and hegeomai (to lead out or to go before). It means to lead out, be leader, go before. It is used metaphorically to draw out in narrative, unfold a teaching. In Greek writing, it is used of the interpretation of things sacred, oracles and dreams (i.e. Daniel).

Jesus made known God in a manner that no one had done before. He brought great understanding to the world about Yahweh. A large part of his ministry was making known to the world Yahweh.

Luke 4:16-21 Jesus' own words on what his ministry was about

Matthew 4:23-25

Mark 1:29-39 His ministry was to the world, not just a handful in one certain area.

Matthew 9:35-38 Again, a summary of His ministry

Matthew 10:1-15 He commissioned the 12 to carry out the same ministry.

Luke 10:1-12 The 70 Disciples were given the same instruction.

Matthew 28:18-20 The Church today is an extension of our Lord's ministry.

2 Corinthians 5:16-21 We are ambassadors for Christ which means we are in the place of Christ. He is not here, so we speak on his behalf the same message.
