Election Over; We Won!

The constant bombardment from the election seems to never end! The candidates passionately crow their qualifications, promises, and ad nauseam slander their opponent. Thousands of years ago, Yahweh God elected David to sit on His throne and promised that a descendant of his would reign as king in the world-wide Kingdom that is to come. Isaiah tells us of this elected sovereign who now waits in heaven for the day of his inauguration.

Isaiah 11:

1 Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

The Davidic dynasty, once the grandest of all, had been reduced to vague insignificance and, according to Isaiah’s prophecy, soon total annihilation. Yet, out of the merger remaining part, the stem of Jesse (David’s father), would spring the most significant man ever – the Messiah, a descendant of David who will sit on his throne and rule the entire world on behalf of Yahweh. The fruit that he will “bear” will effect everything and everyone.

The Spirit of the LORD [Yahweh] will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD [Yahweh].

The most important aptitude required for a good sovereign is wisdom to make the right decisions with the might to effectively implement them. World leaders’ consistent ineptness in these areas, history books have well documented. On the other hand, Yahweh knows everything that has ever happened, He is aware of everything that is currently happening (including what is in the heart of every person), along with a knowledge of what will happen. He is truly the only one competent to rule the world. However, He promises that when His Son (the King of the new Kingdom) reigns, he will do so by Yahweh’s spirit enabling him to rule with Yahweh’s wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, and knowledge, plus he will maintain the fear of Yahweh always. Oh glory what a King he will be!

3 – And He will delight in the fear of the LORD [Yahweh], and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make a decision by what His ears hear

4 – But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

Today’s leaders rule by what they see and hear, which is very limited and often convoluted, but Jesus with Yahweh’s spirit will have spiritual eyes and ears and will thereby always judge righteously. Justice is elusive and often nonexistent today. Too often commensurate retribution is faulty with the innocent being punished and the guilty rewarded.

The sixth amendment of the U.S. Constitution says we have the right to a speedy and public trail. Yet, in some places in New York, accused felons wait in jail over 988 days before trail. Death-row inmates in the U.S. typically spend over a decade awaiting execution. Some prisoners have been on death row for well over 20 years. When Jesus reigns, righteousness and justice will prevail; the guilty will be punished immediately.

5 – Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.

Many good politicians begin with honorable intentions and pure motives, but they get worn down in time and fail to maintain faithfulness to their original purposes. Jesus has been faithful for thousands of years and will remain so eternally.

6-9 – and the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy will lead them.

Also the cow and the bear will graze, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.

The carnivorous animal kingdom will be no more.  Everything is going to change. The very good news is that the election is over, and we have won. Jesus is the King, and He is coming back soon!
