4: Yahweh, The God Of Jesus

Jesus and the Jewish scribe agreed that the Shema defines who God is (Mark 12:29-30).

The word echad means “one” not “compound unity”.

The scribe interpreted “The LORD is one” to mean “he is one, and there is no other besides him” (Mark 12:32).

Jesus denied that was good in the way God is good (Mark 10:18).

Jesus identified his God as the Father-the same as Mary’s God (John 20:17).

Even in his exalted condition, Jesus recognizes that he still has a God (Revelation 3:2, 12).

1 Corinthians 8:6 adds a confession that Jesus is Lord Messiah to the Shema without splitting it.
