God is omniscient and omnipresent; therefore, He always knows true reality. Humans quite often are deceived and believe lies, distortions, and half-truths. We have very limited knowledge and wisdom, and we are always only in one place at a time.

1Kings 14:1-9 God always sees things the way they really are.

2Kings 6:8-23 The true reality was different than what the senses reported.

John 8:44 Deceptions are powerful, prevalent, and persistent. The primary way the devil operates is with lies. We are confronted with lies and deceptions from our own flesh, which includes reasoning, rationalization, memories, ignorance, and such like. The world and the demonic realm play a big part in creating our sense of reality, which too often is not true reality.

The Great Principle Is:
What we believe determines who we are and what we do. When we believe lies, we produce the fruit of those lies in our lives. When we believe the truth, we produce the fruit of the truth in our lives.

1Kings 22:1-37 Jehoshaphat believed that he and Ahab were one. Jehoshaphat's son was married to Ahab's daughter.

  • We tend to twist things in our minds so that we can live with ourselves.
  • To avoid accepting responsibility for our wrongdoing, we blame others.
  • We tend to see what we want to see rather than what is real.
  • We are self centered and therefore prone to grandiosity.
  • We are not well informed, but think we know.

Galatians 6:1- 10 What you sow, you reap is a law and applies to every soul.

  1. Stay connected with God.
  2. Spend most of your time in reality while avoiding fancy.
  3. Communicate with others and avoid living in your "own head."
  4. Always remember that feelings are not necessarily true.
  5. Do not buy into others' deceptions.
  6. Live now and understand that memories and expectations can deceive.
