Died In Faith Hebrews 10:35-39 Don't shrink back

Hebrews 11:1 Hope is future and therefore unseen;

Romans 8:24 & 25 Christian hope is centered in Christ and his return

Faith is the assurance (guarantee, confidence) of things hoped for. Faith is the conviction (proof) of things not seen (other words for hope)

Hebrews 11:2 By faith, the elders received God's approval

Verse 3 Faith explained: The way we understand the preparing of the world and ages is by faith not something we see

Verse 4 By faith, Abel's offering to God was acceptable

Verse 5 By faith, Enoch pleased God

Verse 6 Without faith, it is impossible to please God

- Faith begins with hearing Romans 10:17
- Faith grows by practice Matthew 21:18-22
- Faith is influenced by prayer Ephesians 3:14-21
- Faith is helped by right thinking and singlemindedness Matthew 6:16-34

Hebrews 11:7 Noah stayed focused on God's promises. He did what he had to do because he was convinced the wrath of God was coming and God would save him.

Hebrews 11:8-10 Abraham stayed alienated from the world by faith

Verses 11 and 12 They embraced God's promises by faith

Verse 13 Their faith in Christ determined how they lived throughout their entire life. They died with faith that their hope would come

Hebrews 11:15 How did they do it? Didn't look back -- only forward.

Verse 16 Their day is coming

Hebrews 12:1-3 Jesus the greatest witness
