Contentment or Covetousness

James 1:2 and 3 Temptation is the means by which faith can be purified of any impurity, and thereby strengthened. Temptation's design is to lure you away from faith. But with the right response, it can be the very thing to strengthen our faith. Therefore we count it all joy.

When tempted you must go to God for His help.

Verse 4 "Patience" means steadfastness, fortitude, staying power, heroic endurance.

Temptations to sin are disguised with the lie of fulfillment of something. That which satisfies the soul of man is believing, not sin.

Wanting nothing (contentment); temptation is based on want. God will relieve the "wants."

Hebrews 13:5 "Covetousness" inordinate desire for wealth or possessions, or another's possessions.

I Timothy 6:1 Show proper respect to your boss

Ephesians 6:5-9

I Timothy 6:2 and 3 "Godliness" means godly state or quality, conformity to the will of God, piety

Verse 4 Doting about questions - morbid interest in controversial questions

Philippians 4:10-12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity

Verses 13-19 God supplies all our needs.
