Acts 16:1 Paul and Barnabas had evangelized those cities 2 or 3 years earlier. Timothy's mother and grandmother were believers. II Timothy 1:5

Philippians 1:19.

Jesus is the head of the church working with each member (Ephesians 1:22; Revelations 2:1)

Acts 16:10 Luke is included for the first time.

Verse 12 Philippi named after Philip II father of Alexander The Great.

Verse 13 No synagogue in Philippi.

Verse 15 Paul's first convert in Europe

Verse 22 It was not the only time that Paul was beaten with rods II Corinthians 11:25 states he was beaten three times.

Verse 25 The double discomfort of the beatings and the stocks was not intended to fill Paul and Silas with joy.
