I Corinthians 13:1-3 Love is not an emotion or a feeling; rather, it is a deliberate choice to obey God's Word above our thoughts, feelings, emotion, or desires. God Himself is the standard of His love because, according to I John 4:8 and 16, God is Love.

I Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, long - suffering or suffers long.

I Peter 3:20; Exodus 34:6; 2 Peter 3:9 and 10 God is very long suffering which means having forbearance and self-restraint before proceeding to action. It is to be long on patience with others even if their actions are evil.

Ephesians 4:1-3; I Thessalonians 5:14 and 15 God wants His children to behave as He does.

James 5:7-9 Today is an evil day with many trials and tribulations, but we can be long - suffering because his coming is drawing near.

Nehemiah 9:17 Love is kind. God is our model to follow regarding this aspect of love.

Romans 2:4 Kindness, goodness, and gentleness can all be translated from the same Greek word.

Titus 3: 3-5 Kindness is contrasted with the hard - hearted attitude of bitterness, wrath, anger.

Ephesians 4:31 and 32 We are to be kind.

Ephesians 2:7 In the age to come, we will experience the full kindness of God.

Luke 6:35 and 36 Our kindness to others is to be unconditional.

Love envies not -- Since everyone in the Church is blessed with God's gracious gifts, there should never be reason for envy.
