Salvation
1. Israel looked for the same salvation as the church today
2. Salvation is still future
3. Live now looking for the day of salvation
Israel looked for the same salvation as the church.
Isaiah 25:6-9 The Kingdom of the Messiah and salvation were in the Jewish mind convertible terms.
Zephaniah 3:14-20 The prophets teach that salvation is a direct reference to the future when the Messiah rules on earth.
Romans 13:11-14 Salvation is nearer to us then when we first believed but it is still not here.
II Timothy 2:8-13; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 19:1-7
Ephesians 1:13 and 14 Today we have an earnest of our salvation.
The great salvation is still future; hence, the work of Christ is not yet completed. The solid foundation is indeed laid, the preparation work is progressing, but the time for the perfect realization of salvation has not yet arrived.
I Thessalonians 5:1,ff We are to live now with our future salvation in view.
