Family Camp

Would you like to take a week away with the family of God? Whether you are single or married, young or old (or in between), you are invited to join us at Silver Bay’s magnificent campus on Lake George, NY for Family Camp June 30 through July 6th. Camp is called “Family Camp” because it is designed for the family of God. It is not just for families. Everyone is invited. (For more about Silver Bay, see their website here.)

Enjoy solid biblical teachings, moving worship, interesting workshops, and a stellar children’s program. You’ll have lots of free time for prayer, and tons of optional fun activities, all in the beauty of the Adirondack mountains and gorgeous Lake George!

Changes
In the past, Silver Bay has charged Living Hope per person for our Family Camp. This year they changed how they are booking conferences. Now, you pay for your room and your meals are a separate cost. You can either select to have meals for the entire week or to not have any meals. You cannot pick and choose what days you want to eat in the cafeteria. We encourage you to opt for the meals as it is an important time to fellowship with others!

As Silver Bay has restructured how they charge, we have had to do the same. We now have a Living Hope Conference Fee. This fee helps mitigate the cost of the meeting spaces, activities, and supplies.

Another change Silver Bay made is that we have to release any un-booked rooms by Friday, May 3, 2024. You can still register after this date, but there is no guarantee that specific rooms will be available. Prices will go up $50 after the May 3rd deadline. The final date to register is Monday, June 10th, 2024. Don’t wait to register, do it now!

Roommates help lower your housing costs!
Having a roommate will cut your housing costs in half! And it can be a great time to get to know others! If you have specific person you want to room with, let us know! Or if you want help finding a roommate, email Ruth at ruth.finnegan@gmail.com. We cannot guarantee finding roommates in each building but we will do our best. You must be prepared to pay the full cost of the room in the event that your roommate cancels or if we can’t find one for you. When you register, you will be billed for the full cost of the room but we will refund you half if you have a roommate at the time camp begins.

To register, you need to:
1. Pick how many meal plans you need for yourself/family. You can opt in or out of the meal plan for the entire week…meaning if you opt out, you will be providing for your own meals for the entire week. We encourage you to buy the meal plan and enjoy breaking bread with others!
2. Select your room(s). (specify if you have a specific roommate or need help getting one) Remember…these prices are per room and you can fit 2-3 people per room.
3. Add the Living Hope Conference fee for yourself/family.

Dates
The deadline for early bird prices is Friday, April 12th, 2024. The final deadline to register is June 10th. Camp will run from the Sunday evening meal (June 30) through Saturday lunch (July 6). Various price options are available based on your housing choice.

What To Bring
When you are at Silver Bay, there is a lot of physical activity and walking throughout the expansive campus. Temperatures drop at night and in the early morning, but can be quite hot in the afternoon. Plan to bring walking shoes that are comfortable and layers to accommodate all temperatures. Bring a bathing suit for swimming. You may borrow sporting equipment like basketballs, baseball gloves, and tennis rackets from the equipment center. Additionally, bring a Bible and notebook if you would like to take notes during the teachings.

Daily Schedule
Each day our adult and children’s (5-12 year olds) programs run simultaneously from 9am to 12pm. Afternoons are free, though we do have an optional sport each day at 2pm as well as an optional class at 4pm. Evening meetings are from 7pm to 9pm. Some nights we have evening activities available for those interested. Also we have prayer times daily at 7:45am (morning prayer) and 5:30pm (camp watch).

Afternoon Activities
Silver Bay provides access to kayaks, Sunfish sailboats, paddle boards, and rowboats. Several hiking trails are a short walk from the campus. Additionally, there are clay tennis courts, pickleball courts, volleyball courts, and outdoor basketball courts. There is also a gym that has weights, cardio equipment, a basketball court, and a rock-climbing wall. Silver Bay also has a sand beach with life guards, two disc golf courses, archery, and a craft shop. See this web page for more information.

Our Children’s Program (5-12 year olds)
We put on our own children’s fellowship program full of activities designed for those five to twelve, and it will be held during adult meeting time. The children will be learning the Bible, praying, and singing along with crafts and physical activities. If you have any questions or need more information, please email the program coordinator, Ruth Finnegan, at ruth.finnegan@gmail.com.

Silver Bay’s Children’s Program (4 and younger)
Silver Bay offers a morning program for children 3 and 4 year olds from 8:15 – 11:15 a.m., Monday through Friday. An additional charge is required per child and payable directly to Silver Bay. If you have children this age, you must register with Silver Bays’ “Silver Camp” directly. More information is available here. The deadline for registering for Silver Bay’s children’s camp is two weeks prior to arrival. To get the early bird price, registration must be completed by April 30th. Register online here. Please bring a paper copy of your registration and immunization form to the Silver Camp the first day. This is helpful if the YMCA staff loses our information, which has happened in the past.
