Follows = accompany (as a disciple)

“I am” – ego eimi,  pronoun ego denotes “I” is emphatic; occurs in all “I am” statements

Messianic prophecies related to light

Luke 2:28-32. A light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel

Isaiah 9:1-2. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them.

Isaiah 42:1, 6-7. I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations, to open blind eyes

Jesus is not only the source of our light, but through him we “see” everything else.

John 1:18. Jesus explains the Father

John 14:9. He who has seen me has seen the Father.
