Acts 16:6-7 Paul did what Jesus told him even if it was contrary to what he wanted to do.

18 Jesus powered the spirit out of the woman. Paul followed the Lord; the lord did not follow Paul.

Acts 17:1-14 This was the great example the believers in Thessalonica had to follow.
1 Thessalonians 2:1- 20 He treated them with the gentleness of a nursing mother and the strength of a father. They became examples for the churches in Macedonia and Achaia

We want to join God in what He is doing in the world and not expect Him to join us in our plans. To participate in His work we must have an awareness of Him and expectations based upon His Words.
