To listen to the 10 reasons to believe the bible is true, click here.

The bible claims to be inspired by God, the result of his spirit or breath.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

In order to see how the bible stands out from other literature, we can look at translations, sales, and manuscripts. In addition, we can compare it to ancient contemporary literary works from the same part of the world.

Creation Account
The Enuma Elish compared to Genesis

Law Codes
The Code of Hammurabi compared to Deuteronomy

Medical Treatments
Ebers Papyrus compared to Leviticus

Other reasons to consider the bible’s veracity include predictive prophecy, unflattering honesty, martyrdom, and archeology. For more detail on these reasons, see lhim.org/godspeaks.

Psalm 19:7-11 God’s words revive the soul, make the simple wise, make our hearts rejoice, taste sweeter than honey, are more desirable than gold, and endure forever.
