Genesis 28:13 God’s original revelation to Jacob
Genesis 31: 3, 13 Over 20 years later, Yahweh tells Jacob to go back to the land.
Genesis 32:7 – 12 Jacob is afraid, so he prays for help.
Genesis 32:24-32 Yahweh answers his prayer.
Yahweh empowers him to wrestle all night − something that is impossible. When it is finally over, Jacob walks away with a limp as a reminder of his own weakness and that with Yahweh you can prevail.
Hosea 12:3 and 4 In the struggles that are beyond your human ability, with Yahweh you will prevail.
Ephesians 6:10-12 Like Jacob, we find ourselves in an impossible situation from a human point-of-view. We cannot wrestle against spiritual powers and win without the help of God and our Lord Jesus the Christ.
11 and 13 The full armor of God includes truth, righteousness, peace, faith, hope, God’s Word, and prayer.
14 – The primary way the devil operates is with lies and deception. He tells you what you want to hear and appeals to your flesh; yet, it is contrary to God’s truth.

6:14 Righteousness is doing the next right thing. 4:24-ff; 5:9-ff
Matthew 6:33 and 34 Live here and now. All you can do is the next right thing now.
Ephesians 6:15 – Peace – 1:2; 6:23; 2:14-17; and 4:3 Peace is fundamental to our well-being and necessary in order to stand in the evil day. We are to be peacemakers, not peace breakers.
Ephesians 6:16 Faith is the confidence and trust we have toward that which God promises. We know God will do everything He says He will do; and therein, we have faith.

The word of God – knowing and speaking the Word of God are vital to combat the temptations of the adversary
18 With all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the spirit….
The overall instruction is to stand as did Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. We can stand only here and now.
