Jesus is the Messiah, the one who fulfilled the words of all the prophets. He is the one who was to come. He is the prophet like unto Moses, the priest like unto Melchizedek, and the king like unto David. He was born of a woman, a human being, from the line of King David, of the tribe of Judah.
Luke 1:26-33
This one born of Mary would receive the throne of his Father David. His kingdom would have no end. He would be great and would be called the Son of the Most High. This angelic declaration to Mary is a direct fulfillment of the great messianic promise given to King David (I Sam 7:9-14; I Chr 17:8-13). God would be the Father of this future descendent of David. He would be God’s son. (Ps 2:2, 6-7; Ps 89:3-4, 27-28).
