Romans 8:1 “Therefore” swings us back to all that precedes. The condemnation was our eternal reality, not our feelings.

Romans 5:15-21
Before we accept the lordship of Christ, we are condemned, and our destiny is the wrath of God.

Romans 7:21-25
In spite of our flesh with its rebellion and covetousness, there is now in Christ no condemnation.

Two contrasting laws are — law of sin and death and law of spirit of life in Christ. The word “spirit” occurs 21 times in this chapter.

The Law is referring to the Mosaic Law and the information from chapter 7.

The requirement of the law profusely communicated was the sacrifice of an innocent for the guilty — the type for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. “Walk” literally means to live.

First place the Greek word for mind “phroneo” occurs is in Matthew 16:23. The great question remains: “Am I born again?” “Am I saved?”
