Matthew 7:7-12 Jesus’ words on prayer are shocking.

Matthew 21:18-21
– Why did he curse the fig tree? Was he in a bad mood?

When Jesus said to cast the mountain in the sea, it may have been hyperbole, but there was nothing exaggerated in the cursing of the fig tree.

John 14:12-15
Jesus states within his teaching our need to obey and love and again emphasizes the need for prayer.

John 15:16
He wants fruit to abound in our lives.

John 16: 23 – 27
We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ with the expectations that God will respond to our prayers.

Luke 18:1-8
Persistence is necessary, and we are to trust that our Father will do the best for us in His time.

Psalms 2
The instruction was to ask. The promise has not yet been fulfilled, but it will be.

Prayer is to be offered with a reverential attitude. God is worthy of our profound, adoring, awed respect.
