The teachings of Jesus Christ are built upon and in harmony with Moses and all the Old Testament prophets. His teachings are also consistent with and fundamental to that of the apostles in the New Testament. A harmonious, progressive theme is maintained throughout the Scriptures. The theme is simply stated in the Gospels as the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 4:17-23
Wherever he went and whenever he spoke, the message was the same.

Matthew 9:35; Luke 10:9
When Jesus sent out the apostles and disciples to teach, he said, “Go preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Matthew 5:43-48
Love was not a new subject, but his teaching enlarged it.

Matthew 22:35-46
All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments.

Matthew 24:12
The verse is about the end of the age but also can be applied to our lives. Revelation 2: you have left your foremost or primary love. Do not let life wear you down; love big to the end.

Mark 12:28-34
If we want to enter the Kingdom of God, we must keep love foremost of all.

Luke 1:27-37
Compassion is the core of loving others.

Luke 11:42
Jesus never got lost in religious legalism as many people tend to do.

John 13:34-35
We understand love by viewing the actions and words of Jesus. The higher standard of love is to love as he did.

John 14:15, 21-31
We love Him by keeping his commandments.

John 15:9-21
My joy may be in you and that your joy may be full.
