Nehemiah 1 He was a man who prayed. He confessed his sins and those of the people.

1:9
He reminded God what He had said He would do.

1:11
He asked for Yahweh to hear him.

Nehemiah 2:4
He prayed before he answered the king.

2:8
He gave credit to God for the good things that happened in his life.

2:17 and 18
They determined to rebuild the wall.

2:19
Their enemies gave them ridicule and resistance. 1 Peter 5:7 and 8

2:20
They said God would help them succeed.

4:1-3
They received more mocking by their enemies.

4:4
Nehemiah asked God to take care of the mockers.

4:6
They had a mind to work.

4:9-23
They were wise to be watchful for the enemies but continued to work.

6:15 and 16
The wall was finished in 52 days. God was glorified.

8:1 – 9
The people gathered to hear the reading of the Word.

8:10
“…The joy of the LORD is your strength.”

John 16:20-22
Joy is yours, and no one can take it away.

Psalms 32-33:5
Shout for joy!

Psalm 63:1-7
Yearn for God, and sing praises to Him in joy.

Ps. 63:7
“For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.”
