Daniel 7:13-14, 27 – Daniel’s vision

Kingdom as Lifestyle

Matthew 6:33 – Sermon on the Mount mentions Kingdom 9x.
Kingdom events
o Coming of the Messiah (Isaiah 9:6-7; 11:1-9)
   o Resurrection (Isaiah 25:6-9; Ezekiel 37:1-13)
   o Outpouring of God’s spirit (Isaiah 32:14-18; Ezekiel 39:25-29)
o New covenant ratified (Jeremiah 31:31-40)
Hebrews 6:4-5 – Tasted the powers of the age to come
Hebrews 8:7-13; 10:14-22 – The new way of relating to God and living as the people of God is now in effect. (Otherwise we still would need to keep the Law.)

We are the citizens of the Kingdom who look forward to the coming of the Kingdom while preaching the message about the Kingdom and testifying to its beauty and wholeness by the way we live − from how we do our jobs to how we do marriage to how we treat each other here at church. We are a prophetic community who represent the future of humanity as signposts of what is to come.
