Matthew 3:11 and 12 Three baptisms are spoken about: water, spirit,
and fire.

2 Peter 3:7, 10-12
At the end of the age leading into the millennial
Kingdom, the wrath of God is going to be poured out upon the earth.
God's judgment will be with fire.

Revelation 20:7-15
At the end of the 1,000 years, again God's judgment
will come; His final judgment which also will be with fire.

The baptism of fire will be all encompassing, with a full and complete
influence.

Matthew 3:16
The water baptism of John was an immersion or
submergence in the water.

Luke 12:50
The baptism is regarding his suffering and death.

When we think of the baptism of holy spirit, we should think of an
immersion in the spirit.

Luke 4:1
Jesus is our example. He was full of spirit (we might say
someone is full of joy, sadness, grief, self) implying an all encompassing
effect of influence.

Luke 4:14
“The power of the spirit” – different terms communicating the
same thing.

Luke 4:17 and 18
The spirit of the Lord was upon him in the sense of
empowering and influencing him.

John 7:37-39
Again, we see the power and influence of the spirit.

Acts 4:5-22
Peter and John were greatly influenced by the spirit.

Acts 4:23-31
They were moved by the spirit.

Acts 6:1-7
The people they wanted to serve had to be full of the spirit.

Luke 11:9-13
Pray and believe.

Matthew 28:19 and 20
The great commission of the Church is not a
onetime act in water, rather a complete immersing in the Father, Son, and
the holy spirit.
