Have the Right Frame of Mind

  1. It’s not about you.
    1. It’s about Jesus!
  2. You don’t need all the answers.
    1. You already have the ONE answer that truly matters.
  3. Understand your job.
    1. Plant and water; that’s it.

Practical Tips for Effective Witnessing

  1. Starting conversations
      1. Be courageous: initiate contact.
      2. Act natural.
      3. Find a connection point.
  1. Listen carefully, and ask “open-ended” questions.
      1. Explore their interests.
        1. “Really? That’s interesting. Why do you think that?”
      2. Engage an idea.
        1. “Hmm…. I think I get what you’re saying, but can you tell me more about _____?”
          • Admit agreement (where you can).
        2. “I can see where you are coming from, but do you think there is any other way to look at it? …What might that be?”
        3. “That’s a good point, but can you help me understand _____?”
      3. Evangelize with truth.
        1. “So, I’ve spent some time thinking about this too. Can I share a thought with you?”
        2. “Well, I don’t know if I would agree with all of that, but can I share one thing that I do know?”
