Our good works, noble sacrifices or good behavior is not enough to receive God’s blessings and inclusion into His family. Faith, in the gift of grace, is why we belong in the family and received salvation.

Romans 1:7; 16:20 “Grace and peace” occurs 17 times in salutations and “grace to you” at the closing 17 times. You belong because of grace and are sustained by God’s grace.

Romans 1:19-3:20 The first step is to admit we need God’s help.

Romans 3:10-18 Summarizes humanity’s plight.

Romans 3:19-20 Neither Jew or Gentile can stand before the Lord on their own merit.
Romans 3:21-30 The Greek word translated propitiation is also translated “mercy set”.

Romans 4:1-5 If it was works it would be a wage and not grace.

Romans 5:1 We stand in grace.

Romans 5:15-17 The grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 3:7-8 Paul consider himself the very least of all saints.

Acts 9:3-5 Paul experienced grace and mercy.

Philippians 3:5-6 The best one could be was not enough.

Ephesians 2:1-10 You belong because of grace.

Rev. Vince uses the Bible version NASB-95

You Belong 3: Your New Identity in Christ

Your identity in Christ is received, not achieved. You belong because of God’s grace, you are adopted into His family, and your identity is grounded in what Christ has already done. Romans 6 teaches that your old self died with Christ: “Your old self was crucified with Him.” Your former ...

You Belong 2: Adopted Into God’s Family

When we first believe and repent, we receive God’s spirit, which adopts us into his family. Like Octavius whom Julius Caesar posthumously adopted, we must accept our adoption and live it out. When we do, we will suffer. Thankfully, our inheritance as God’s children far outweighs any ...
