This year at the Unitarian Christian Alliance Conference
In October, we (that is, Sean and Ruth Finnegan, Timypaul Lupe, and Anna Brown) attended the annual Unitarian Christian Alliance Conference. Made up of both recent and lifetime one-God believers, the UCA serves to connect Christians with each other and with unitarian ministries.
The annual conference was a weekend for believers to have fellowship; it also offered workshops on Christian living and showcased academic papers selected to represent unitarian scholarship. Our ministry shined during the event since we have the resources and heart to help unitarian Christians new and old find fellowship and get connected, and Sean’s passion for theology and church history make him an important contributor to the UCA’s larger body of work.
This year, Sean presented “The Deity of Christ from a Greco-Roman Perspective” as one of the seven highlighted academic papers, and Timypaul organized two social evenings for young adults. Our table of brochures, merchandise, and Christ Before Creeds copies (including the NEW Spanish translation: Cristo ante los Credos) demonstrated to 185-odd attendees what our incredible ministry has to offer.
Since Living Hope was a sponsor for the UCA conference, we were allotted a ten-minute opportunity to address the audience. In our presentation, Sean, Timypaul, and Anna invited UCA members to watch our classes online, learn more about the ministry’s work in the Congo, and find like-minded believers on the website map. However, the most exciting part was how we began our presentation. Rather than jumping into the details of what Living Hope has to offer, we started with a skit that even involved singing! Feel free to watch the video, available on our YouTube channel if you’re curious.
