Ephesians 1:1-3 Almighty God’s identity did not change with the New Testament and the advent of His Son. Deuteronomy6:4 remains the eternal benchmark − “Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one!”

To Jesus and to us, Yahweh is God and our Father. Jesus the Christ is our Lord.

4
God chose us in Christ so we could be holy and without blame before God

5
God predestined sonship through Jesus Christ.

6
We bestow praise to the glory of God for the grace freely given through Christ.

11
God works all things after the counsel of His own will.

15
Our prayers are directed to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

18
And the prayer is to know God’s calling, inheritance, and power.

20-23
Jesus has authority over the church. He is the head. The high priest mediated between God and man; the great prophet communicated on God’s behalf; and the king ruled for God over the people of God. Jesus as the head is the high priest, prophet, and king. He is our Lord and master but not our God.

Colossians 1:2, 3, 9-12
Our prayer is to the Father.

13
God rescued us.

14
We have redemption and forgiveness through His dear Son, our Lord Jesus.

18
Jesus is the head.

22
His death made it available for us to be presented before God as holy, blameless, and beyond reproach.

27
Christ is in us.

John 14:3
– Where I am, there you may be also.

John 14:18
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

John 14:23
God in Christ make their abode in us.

John 16:12-15
The holy spirit enables Christ to speak to us and guide us as our head. He is always with us.

Colossians 2:8-13
We are complete in him and are lacking nothing. To think we have to do something or go somewhere is a deception. God in Jesus Christ has already done everything for us, and Christ is in you.

Colossians 3-ff
Change your mind and accept the finished work; think correctly.

John 15:1-ff
Stay connected to the head by obedience to his commands. Listen to him!

Transformation 5: The Danger of Narcissism
