What will the millennium be like? Is the millennium a literal thousand years? Get answers to these questions straight out of the Bible, especially Revelation 20.
Revelation 20:1-3 In an incredible moment of relief, John of Patmos saw the devil seized and bound for a thousand years. With him locked up and the Messiah on the throne, what kind of world would we have?
Isaiah 11:1-5 The Messiah will rule righteously and justly. No longer will the poor be exploited or face injustice. In the age to come God’s intentions will finally become reality on earth as in heaven.
Micah 4:1-4 All the nations of the world will lay down their weapons and cease training for future wars. Peace will pervade globally.
Isaiah 65:17-25 Mortal people will continue to live and die during the millennium, though they will live much longer than people do today.
Revelation 20:4-6 John saw those beheaded by the antichrist come back to life and reign for a thousand years with Christ. The fact that we read of “the camp of the saints” in Rev 20:9 tells us that the martyrs were not the only ones who took part in the first resurrection.
1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 2:11-13 What are we to do in light of these incredible future events that God has planned for us and our world? Apart from taking heart that our world is NOT going to hell in a handbasket (at least not ultimately), we should find fresh energy to persevere and fight the good fight until the end.
